The Australian Labradoodle breed originated in Victoria, Australia to be used as Royal Guide Dogs. The intent was to create a breed that was allergy and asthma friendly with the temperament of a service dog. This journey was inspired by a visually impaired woman in Hawaii who needed a guide dog that wouldn't aggravate her husband's allergies. The desired characteristics of the breed is to become more consistent, non shedding coat types, allergy friendly, loving calm temperaments, highly intelligent, very intuitive, and easy to train.

The temperament of the Australian Labradoodle tends to be extremely clever, social, and joyful.  These dogs are said to be energetic when free and quiet when handled. They approach people in a happy and friendly manner. They are very intelligent and easy to train.  They display an intuition about the current emotional state or needs of family members or handler.

We met an ALD and instantly knew that we wanted to add this breed to our program.  Willow was our first addition to our crew and she has exceeded our expectations.  Words can't express how amazing this breed is and I can't wait to help families expand with ALDs!
